Dermal Fillers Palo Alto

Non-surgicalSoft tissue fillers can be used to soften the fine lines, wrinkles and folds that develop over time in the face. A common area where they are used is to soften the nasolabial fold (the crease that runs from the side of the nose to the corner of the mouth). They can also be used to enhance areas of volume loss such as the tear trough (the hollow underneath the eye), and the lips.

Several options of semi-permanent and permanent fillers exist. These include collagen-based fillers and hyaluronic acid based fillers (e.g.- Juvaderm®, Perlane® and Restylane®). The market for these products is continuing to develop and new products are continuously being added. The length of time that a product lasts depends on both the individual product, and the location it is used among other variables.

Another option is fat grafting. In this technique fat is harvested from one part of the body and then re-injecting it into another area. Fat grafting may require several treatments to achieve the desired results. Fat grafting has several advantages including the fact that it is your body’s own tissue, and the results can be longer lasting.
